3. Melting: the molten metal is kept at a defined temperature in an oven. Once the mold is tightened, the molten metal can be extracted from its container into the oven and poured into the mold.
4. Cooling: the molten metal poured into the mold will start to cool and solidify once it enters the cavity.
5. Disposal: once the predetermined solidification time has elapsed, the sand mold may break and discard the molding.
6. Cutting: during cooling, the material of the channels in the mold solidifies attached to the piece. This excess material must be removed from the foundry, manually, by cutting or sawing or by a debarring press.
